Swamp, guacamole and Jussi

Swamp, guacamole and Jussi is a carnivalistic performance that lets the audience embark on a bus tour all over the scenery of Ostrobothnia.

Based on the poetry book Bigini, by author Jani Nieminen, the performance bites into the polarization and rising tension in society, using the means of both science and art. It dives into the subject boldly by creating straightforward archetypes, and letting the viewers choose who they are rooting for. Do they feel they belong to the radical extremes, turncoats, scapegoats or sensible people? Anxiety and fear feed anxiety and fear. Strong opinions and declarations create counter-reactions, creating more fear. How the hell are we supposed to touch this hot potato without burning our fingers?

Swamp, guacamole and Jussi is goofily blunt, inappropriately humane, self-ironic and suspiciously sweet.
